As part of the 32nd session of Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR), UNCTAD held a workshop on the practical implementation of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in the Palais des Nations, Geneva, on 3 November.

UNCTAD’s eRegulations programme, which helps countries cut red tape and ensure transparency for business rules and procedures, should be expanded to all 28 member countries of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Organization has announced.​

Noting that the impact of the global financial crisis on the world economy has underscored the interconnectedness of the health of large global enterprises and the livelihoods of ordinary people, UNCTAD Secretary-General Supachai Panitchpakdi has called for strengthening of oversight by corporate directors on behalf of their shareholders.
